In the 1970s, Iranian Zahra is studying medicine at the University of Bucharest. There she forms a deep friendship with her fellow student Maria. When the Iranian revolution overthrows the Shah in 1979, Zahra returnes to her country in the hope of political change. She and Maria continue to write letters to each other for decades. The correspondence shows two women separated by two revolutions. They tell each other of protests and general unrest in both countries, on the oppression of women and how this affects them.
With an audience discussion and an interview with Vlad Petri (director) and Lavinia Braniște (Scriptwriter and text writer of „Between Revolutions“).
