― Our Profile

What We Do

"Die Revolutionale" is a project aimed at strengthening civil society's commitment to human rights, democracy, and social change. It consists of two parts, which alternate annually: the International Roundtable and the Festival for Change.

Initiated by the Peaceful Revolution Foundation, Revolutionale aims, in the spirit of the Peaceful Autumn Revolution of 1989, to promote the work and networking of sociopolitical actors and to support international movements for democracy and freedom.

The issues and challenges facing society have changed—and so the goals of the past must be adapted to the present day. The Revolutionale aims to strengthen avenues for social change in the spirit of a community based on peaceful coexistence, solidarity, justice, and shared responsibility.

Peaceful Revolution Foundation

The Peaceful Revolution serves as the values-based foundation of the Peaceful Revolution Foundation (SFR). Its motto, “We Keep Moving Forward,” embodies the foundation’s ongoing commitment to freedom, human rights, and democracy. Through its civic engagement, the foundation advocates for cultural diversity, openness, nonviolence, and peaceful coexistence.

"Revolutionale" carries the idea of system-changing dialogue into the present. As an international platform, it brings together actors from civil society, politics, academia, and culture to jointly develop responses to current societal challenges. At its core is the conviction that change is achieved through encounter, exchange, and the shared search for solutions—entirely in the spirit of the Peaceful Revolution.

International Roundtable

The International Round Table (IRT) creates spaces for dialogue among equals. Activists, scholars, and cultural practitioners from various countries discuss issues, learn from one another, and develop joint strategies for democracy, human rights, and social change.

Participants from Germany, as well as from Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, and other post-communist countries, come together in Leipzig in a safe and secure environment for a personal and intensive exchange.

Featured Months

The "Focus Months" are a series of events organized by the Revolutionale throughout the year. They address current key issues and bring them to the streets of Leipzig through cultural and discussion events.

The events range from workshops and panel discussions to film screenings and artistic interventions—always free of charge and always open to everyone.
